Isola del Giglio

A Corner of Paradise on the Island of Giglio

Caldane beach is a special place, where nature manifests itself in its purest and most authentic form. Whether you are a lover of relaxation, walking or diving, this beach offers a unique and unforgettable experience. With its pristine beauty and intimate atmosphere, it represents one of the most sought-after destinations for those visiting the Giglio Island.

The Caldane beach, located on the east coast of the island of Giglio, is one of the most precious gems of the island. With its intimate atmosphere and natural beauty, it represents an ideal place for those seeking an authentic experience away from mass tourism.

Characteristics and Natural Beauties

The Caldane beach is the smallest of the four sandy beaches of the Giglio Island. To reach it, you have to venture by sea, using the services of the boatmen from Giglio Porto, or on foot along a dirt path that starts from the Spiaggia delle Cannelle. This path, surrounded by lush Mediterranean scrub, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the deep blue sea. Once you arrive, you find yourself in front of a real corner of paradise: crystal clear waters with emerald reflections, golden granite sand and an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.

An Authentic Experience

The Caldane beach is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in a still wild and uncontaminated environment. Far from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded beaches, here you can breathe pure air, listen to the sound of the waves and enjoy the scents of the Mediterranean maquis. Despite its small size, the beach is never too crowded, not even in the high season, always guaranteeing a peaceful and relaxing experience. It is the perfect place for lovers of swimming and snorkelling, thanks to its gently sloping seabed and the richness of its marine fauna.

Services and Comforts

Even if the Caldane beach retains a wild aspect, it offers some essential services to ensure the comfort of visitors. During the summer season, there is a blue point “Caldane Beach”, where you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds. Also, starting in 2021, a floating café has been introduced where visitors can buy cold drinks, coffee and ice cream. However, as there are no other amenities, it is advisable to bring along everything you need for a packed lunch and enough water.

How to reach the Caldane beach

Caldane beach is located south of Giglio Porto and Cannelle beach. It can be reached in less than ten minutes by taxi boat from Giglio Porto. For those who prefer a walk, there is a beautiful path that runs along the sea, immersed in the colors and smells of the Mediterranean scrub. Starting from Giglio Porto, you can follow the paved road up to Spiaggia delle Cannelle and then continue on the dirt path, recognizable by the number 23, for another 20 minutes.
