Isola del Giglio

Boat and Dinghy Rental on Giglio Island

what to do

A Wonderful Fishing Village

The Isola del Giglio, located in the heart of the Tyrrhenian Sea, is an ideal destination for lovers of the sea and maritime adventures. One of the best ways to explore the island and its hidden coves is through boat and dinghy rental. This option offers visitors the freedom to sail along the coast of the island, discovering secret corners and enjoying breathtaking views.

Giglio Island offers a unique maritime experience, and boat and dinghy rental is one of the best ways to enjoy all that the island has to offer. Whether it’s exploring hidden coves, snorkelling in crystal clear waters or simply enjoying a relaxing day at sea, renting a boat on Giglio Island is an experience that every visitor should experience at least once.

Discover the island by sea

To fully enjoy the experience of Giglio Island, it is essential to explore its bays, coves and inlets, many of which are far from inhabited centers and can only be reached by sea. Renting a boat, with or without a boat license, allows you to experience this adventure in total autonomy. During the summer, when the beaches are naturally more crowded, renting a motor boat or a sailing boat becomes the ideal option to discover semi-deserted places and coves overlooking the crystalline waters of the Giglio Island.

With its 28 km of coastline, the Isola del Giglio is perfect to be explored by sea. Its isolated coves, sandy or pebble beaches and inlets that open between the rocks overhanging the sea offer unforgettable panoramas. In a few hours, it is even possible to go around the whole island.

Nautical license and rental

Most of the boats available for hire, both motor boats and dinghies, can be driven without a licence, as long as the engine power does not exceed 40hp and the driver is 16 years of age or older. Charter boats are easy to drive and require no special experience. The cost for a rental day varies between 100 and 270 euros, depending on the season and the type of boat, plus the cost of petrol.

Where to rent

Most of the boat rental services are located in Giglio Porto and Giglio Campese. These services are mainly available in the summer period, from May to the end of September, with the exception of bad weather days. Costs vary according to the season and the type of boat, with prices ranging from 100 to 270 euros per day, plus fuel.

Boat rental without driver

For those who want a more independent sailing experience, there are self-drive rental options. This allows visitors to explore the island at their own pace, deciding where and when to stop.
